Super Rugby finals scenarios
1. Hurricanes, v Chiefs (away)Guaranteed top spot
2. Waratahs, v Reds (home)A bonus-point win guarantees second spot and the week off and home semi-final. Equalling the Brumbies result against the Crusaders will guarantee top spot in the Australian conference and at least a third place finish. Any other result could see them slip to sixth.
3. Stormers, v Sharks (away)Guaranteed South African conference winner and can finish no lower than third. To move to second, they must win while both the Waratahs and Brumbies lose. If both Australian teams lose without a bonus point then a draw or a double-bonus-point loss will be enough for the Stormers to move up a place.
4. Chiefs, v Hurricanes (home)Can finish no higher than fourth spot. Even a bonus-point win may see them slip to fifth, while any other result opens a possible sixth-spot finish
.5. Highlanders, v Blues (away)Like the Chiefs, they can finish no higher than fourth. To get there, they must at least match the result of the Chiefs and better their New Zealand rivals winning margin by a point. Any other result could see them finish sixth.
6. Brumbies, v Crusaders (home)No other team is relying on other results more than the Brumbies. Even a bonus-point win could see them remain in sixth place with a likely trip to South Africa in the first week of the finals. To finish top of the Australian conference, and a guaranteed second or third finish, they must better the result of the Waratahs.
